Background Information:   The history of the College Library, Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu is closely linked with the history of the parent institution – the College itself. The library started in a reading room when the college relocated to its present site by the middle of 1980s. From the small reading room, the library now occupies a reading space measuring 9.67m x 13.24m.The library occupies the central position in the academic activities of the institution. The library is established with the fundamental objective of meeting the information needs of the college community and supporting teaching, learning, and research activities in the institution. To accomplish this responsibility, the library selects, acquires, processes, organizes, preserves, and makes accessible for use the information materials relevant to the academic needs of the institution.

Organization of the Library: The college library is made up of an inter-play of different people (staff and users) and different materials (print and electronic) which are all organized in order to meet the objectives of the library. The services of the library is organized and structured into Divisions, departments, and units of the library as follows:

E-Resources – The e-resources of the library is at its developing stage. The library maintains access to electronic versions of some relevant books and journals. Internet access is also provided in the library.

Vision of the Library: To be the foremost vibrant academic library in Africa for knowledge acquisition, processing, organization, preservation and dissemination on dental related education, practice, science and technology.

Mission of the Library: To provide comprehensive library services and resources in multiple formats that meet the library users need and also effectively support research, teaching, and learning Programs of the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu State, Nigeria.
